It acts just like the original cord that came with the ipod. The cord itself does not seem tight when plugging into the ipod, so maybe this sort of problem depends on the model. On the box, it says that this charger pretty much works with most models of ipods. The charger does come with an indicator light that lets you know when the ipod has been fully charged, it starts off as amber and turns green when charged. I am really glad I got this charger, it is very handy to have in the car. I have the ipod video and the charger works great with my kind of model. The cord that comes with the actual charger is recognized by my computer and itunes, syncs up the ipod, and then charges it.
I had read about the other reviews, so I was a little reluctant, but rest assured, I had absolutely no issue, and it worked great. The item worked perfectly with my Iphone 3GS.
Only issue is it seems to charge the iphone a little slowly compared to the wall outlet. Not much to say. Does its job.
I usually charge the phone while running the hands-free bluetooth. I have kept most of the cord wound up just as received by the manufacturer, this keeps the entire package neat and easy to stow away. No problems with any faulty hardware, etc. I just needed something to charge my iphone in the car while talking. This does the job.
Nice to know that I can charge via USB as well, but I don't expect that will come up much since I leave this in my car. Works perfectly as a car charger for my iPhone 3G. Nice, aesthetic design with clean lines and pleasing glowing ring at the head of the charger letting you know charge status.
